The device is waterproof (to the IP67 standard) and the water tank at the front can be easily submerged to take a sample of the water.
For measuring next pool values:
pH
Chlorine (free /total)
Alkalinity
Cyanuric acid (stabilizer)
The PoolLab® is equipped with Bluetooth and can therefore be wirelessly connected to your smartphone.
After syncing the test data, you can read it out in the app. The app also provides handy dosing advice based on the measurement.

Chlorine pool
Chlorine disinfects the water. It kills bacteria and algae. Chlorine exists in granular form (chlorine choc), tablet form and in liquid form. For swimming pools the ideal chlorine value is between 1 and 2.5 ppm. For spas it lies between 2.5 and 5 ppm.
pH value swimming pool
pH indicates the acidity of the water. It is important that you first adjust the pH level and only then the chlorine content. Too high or too low a pH has a negative influence on the effect of your chlorine. The ideal pH value is between 7.2 and 7.8. You can raise or lower the pH with granulate or liquid.
Alkalinity
Alkalinity is the buffer zone of your acidity. The harder the alkalinity deviates, the more difficult it is to maintain the pH. The better the level of alkalinity, the fewer fluctuations you will notice in the acidity of your water. The ideal value is between 80 and 120 ppm. You can increase or decrease the alkalinity with granulate.
Cyanic acid
Cyanoic acid is added to most chlorine products in powder and tablet form. It is a stabiliser that ensures that the free chlorine, which kills bacteria and algae, is broken down less quickly by UV rays. When the cyanoic acid content of the water becomes too high, the present chlorine will lose its effect. This results in green water, even though according to the test strips your chlorine content is at the same level. The ideal value of cyanoic acid is between 30 and 100 ppm. Increasing is not necessary and is done automatically by adding chlorine choc or tablets. Lowering can only be done by diluting the pool water with fresh water.
